Are you a self-motivated Junior or Sophomore at North Paulding High School? Would you like to learn what it is like to be a professional? Would you be interested in experiencing a different learning environment much like an online university program? Would you like to learn in a real working environment expanding your ability to communicate, provide exceptional customer service, work as part of a team, and gain proof of responsibility while building a real Career Portfolio to use after high school? Are you interested and able to leave school up to three periods early each day or arrive to school up to three periods late each day? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, check out this site with your parents, and decide if Work Based Learning is for you. If you decide to pursue it, be sure to follow the proper registration and application process.
Throughout the year, you will hold an internship position related to your coursework and career interests at a company of your choosing. You will have a Mentor who will work closely beside you to help develop the skills and knowledge needed to further your career interests after leaving high school. Your Mentor will evaluate you several times throughout the year to provide valuable feedback on your performance.
